BioVentures offers a variety of DNA sizing standards, but if one of our standard products does not fit your needs, a custom configuration can be produced. We will create fluorescently labeled or unlabeled size standards, made to your specification, that are precisely tuned to your application.
BioMarker® products provide accurate sizing of dsDNA with bands of equal ethidium bromide intensity. These markers have been pre-treated to expose 5’OH groups, are kinase ready, require no dephosphorylation, and offer stability at room temperature. BioMarkers® can be used in a variety of ways including gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, gel filtration chromatography and HPLC.
Custom configurations of BioMarkers® are available in a size range of 50-10,000 bp. Once your custom configuration is manufactured, it is tested for resolution intensity and background on 10% acrylamide and 3:1 NuSieve Agarose gels with ethidium bromide staining. BioMarker® bands are also designed to resolve fully for accuracy without ambiguity or comigration.
MapMarkers® contain single stranded DNA with a single bound flurophore. Only the single stranded DNA is labeled with dye. MapMarkers® are available with all of the most commonly used fluorescent dyes, and custom dyes are also available. MapMarkers® provide consistent intensities and migration patterns and are compatible with all fluorescent-based separation instrument systems. MapMarkers® are free of extraneous peaks and produce consistent sizing with high reproducibility in agarose gels or capillary-based systems. MapMarkers® may be used under either denaturing or non-denaturing conditions.
Custom configurations of MapMarkers® are available in a size range of 30-2000 bp. MapMarker® size ladders can also be brought to various concentrations depending on your specification. Once your custom configuration is manufactured, it is tested for concentration via spectrophotometry, resolution and background on capillary electrophoresis using laser excitation.
You will find that our custom ladders are economical because the cost is reduced by the need to incorporate only those bands specific to your application.
